Woodpeckers of Illinois
March 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Peggy Doty, Illinois Extension, Energy and Environmental Stewardship Educator in partnership with the Northwest Illinois Audubon Society will be presenting a program on the Woodpeckers of Illinois.
Woodpeckers are incredibly unique and have been around for millions of years. They require specific habitats and are very noticeable by their sound and movement. There are seven species of woodpeckers living in Illinois habitats. What many may not know is how critical woodpeckers are to some of our common backyard birds. This program is valuable for the beginner birder as well as the veteran one.
Woodpeckers of Illinois will be held either via Zoom or in-person (in Freeport). To register for this program, please send a message to nwilaudubon@gmail.com to be placed on an email contact list. Approximately a week before the program you will be notified if the program will be held live, or you will receive the Zoom link.
