Wild DeKalb Challenge
August 21 - October 31 FREE
County wide challenge consisting of 10 weeks of outdoor activities
You’ll have the freedom to choose all your favorite outdoor activities or simply stick to the one you enjoy most from the list below.
YOUR GOAL REMAINS THE SAME, REGARDLESS.
Earn a minimum of 150 activity points and provide a date and time-stamped selfie from each of your outdoor adventures and you could be eligible for some great prizes. Photos should be shared at Wild DeKalb or Emailed. A 10-week completion window means no mass one day starts and offers you plenty of opportunities to participate with friends, family, classmates, or even by yourself.
DeKalb County has so many natural resources, including Shabbona Lake, the DeKalb Nature Trail, the Great Western Trail, and all of the DeKalb County Forest Preserves. Visiting all of them can be an enjoyable personal challenge. Having an outlet for the community to escape the pressure from the circumstances beyond their control is even more relevant now than ever before. The benefits to our physical and mental health of spending time in nature are too numerous to list here.
