NIU STEM Café: The Labor Shortage Legal, Gender, Economic and Management Perspectives

Why is there a labor shortage right now, and how is the nature of work changing in these turbulent times?

Hear from a panel of experts who will weigh in about the legal, economic, gender, and talent-development issues that are impacting workers now and into the future. Carl Campbell III, chair of the NIU Department of Economics will discuss economic factors. Michael Oswalt, an associate professor in the NIU College of Law, will discuss labor, employment, and workplace organizing. Mahesh Subramony, a management professor who specializes in human resource management, will discuss the changing nature of work. And Kathryn Cady, an associate professor of communication, will speak about feminist and labor politics and the experiences of women in the workforce.
