Hands-on Autoharp Music Workshop
April 9, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
FREE
Do a little … Play a lot!
“Harpin Howard” Solomon supplies you with pre-tuned autoharps, finger picks, and chord song sheets, provides an example of how a song goes, and gives everyone in the circle a chance to play the same song at a comfortable speed and complexity level.
As a group, everybody will receive the applause of a minimum of 19 other participants for each song performed. This is a low-pressure environment in which you can expect to succeed in playing songs on the autoharp. At the end, everybody participates in a final two-song guided jam session and the room is filled with autoharp music.
The autoharps each weigh between 8 and 11 pounds, and because of the weight, participants must be limited to middle school students to adults.
“Harpin Howard” Solomon has six years of experience as an autoharp play and 45 years of experience playing the guitar. He has performed at the DeKalb Back Alley Market, DeKalb Area Women’s Center Christmas and Summer Markets, Kishwaukee Hospital Cancer Center, the Willow Folk Music Festival, and other local gatherings. In addition to performing on autoharp, Howard holds a Ph.D. in education.
Please register for this free workshop, as space is limited.
