Community Clean-Up Days
April 29, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
FREE
The DeKalb Park District is inviting the public to give back to the community and participate in a series of upcoming community clean-up days this spring. This Earth Day, the DeKalb Park District is teaming up with the City of DeKalb, Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District, Northern Illinois University, and the Trash Squirrels for a community-wide clean-up. Individuals, families, and service groups are asked to come together to clean up trash and debris in some of our most popular locations across the DeKalb community. From downtown DeKalb to the NIU campus to select park locations, volunteers will have plenty of ways to give back this Earth Day. Participants may be assigned to some of our popular parks such as Hopkins Park, Welsh Park, Russell Road, Rotary Park, or Boardman/Pappas Park. Lunch will follow at the Hopkins Park Shelter.
Pre-registration and a signed waiver are required. Staff will be on-site to provide select supplies and
directions on each day, however, participants are encouraged to bring gloves and buckets.
*RESCHEDULED FROM APRIL 22 TO APRIL 29 DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER*
