After-hours Concert: Apollo Strings Quintet

December 3, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for an after-hours concert in the library’s main lobby with the Apollo Strings Quintet! They will be performing “Classical Holidays,” a blend of Classical music and well-known holiday tunes.Apollo Strings is a student-led quartet of exceptional and highly accomplished student musicians, 2 from Sycamore and 2 from Sugar Grove. The members include: Emma Fredericks, violin, student director (Sycamore), Aeryn Hwang, violin (Sugar Grove), Vienna Hwang, viola (Sugar Grove) and Evan Tonaki, cello (Sycamore). All four members have years of training and performing experience, with both members from Sugar Grove being prior members of the Kaneland Youth Orchestra, and both members from Sycamore being current members of both the NIU Sinfonia String Ensemble and the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. The Quartet formed in 2020 during the pandemic shutdown as an outlet for these musicians to continue to play music. Finding the result very successful, they decided to continue the group and are now in their third year. The group has produced several concerts over the last two years both online and in live venues, as well as doing holiday programs within the community and providing music for a wedding reception. This concert is free and open to all. No registration is required. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and music will begin at 6:30 p.m.
