MacQueen Forest Preserve

MacQueen Forest Preserve is 48 acre forest preserve in Kirkland, Illinois, with trails, campsites, and shelters. Known for its rich plant life and varied terrain, it features rare species and a steep bluff overlooking the South Branch Kishwaukee River and “The Great Kishwaukee Falls.” The preserve is home to endangered Black Sandshell mussels, Bald Eagles, and Pileated Woodpeckers, and connects to Potawatomi Woods via a footbridge.
