DeKalb Community Unit School District 428 is a diverse and growing educational community in DeKalb County, Illinois, located about 60 miles west of Chicago and 40 miles southeast of Rockford. Serving over 6,800 students from Pre-K to 12th grade across 108 square miles, the district includes the City of DeKalb, the Town of Cortland, the Village of Malta, parts of Sycamore, and surrounding areas.
