2nd Annual DeKalb County Pride

The Egyptian Theatre, Safe Passage, Sycamore Public Library, Queer-Oriented Rural Resource Network (QORRN), Grace Place, Hometown Sports Bar & Grill, Youth Outlook, 94.9 WDKB and S.O.A.S. are hosting free event for the community during Pride Month.

On June 23, starting at 6 PM, the local organizations will host a free Pride event at The Egyptian Theatre (135 N. 2nd Street). The event will feature a short Pride march, viewing of the film “Tangerine”, and post-movie discussion. Community members of all ages are invited to partake in the Pride march, but please note that the film is for mature audiences.

“The Egyptian Theatre is so excited to host this great event again this year,” stated Egyptian Theatre Marketing & Communications Director, Jeanine Holcomb. “Partnering with other local nonprofits to bring free events like Pride to our community is core to the Egyptian’s mission and we hope to see so many different people here celebrating love.”

Attendees are invited to wear their favorite Pride attire, bring a decorated Pride sign for the march, and to come show support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

6:00 PM – Doors open at the Egyptian Theatre
6:30 PM – Short Pride march Downtown DeKalb (start/end at Egyptian Theatre)
7:00 PM – Free showing of the film “Tangerine” (for mature audiences)
After movie – post-film discussion led by a panel
