Friends of the Poor Walk for Society of St Vincent de Paul

Please join Society of St. Vincent de Paul or consider sponsoring a walker at the 2024 Friends of The Poor Walk DeKalb/Sycamore, Sept. 28th, 2024, 8:30 am – 11:00 am. This 1.25-mile route will begin and end at the St. Mary Church parking lot, follow sidewalks along Fourth St., Lincoln Hwy. and First St., and not require crossing any busy streets. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the west entrance to the church, and following, a group photo taken on the front steps of the church, the walk will start at 9:30 a.m. All the funds raised through this walk will directly benefit local individuals and families who are struggling. Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Mary/Christ the Teacher Conference was established in 2004 to reach out to and assist our neighbors-in-need. This Friends of the Poor Walk is held to increase awareness of the local issues surrounding systemic poverty in our community.
