Offered in collaboration with several area visitor’s bureaus, the Trail of Terror provides information on the best October attractions in northern Illinois. Read on for what to do this month!

Visitors to DeKalb County this Halloween are in for a real “treat!” For just $30, you can get priority entry to the Amenti Haunted House at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb and the Haunted Corn Maze at Jonamac Orchard in Malta. Apple Picking and Pumpkin Patches

Select your very own bushel of apples and sample other tasty goods at Jonamac or Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park. Come for the apples and stay long enough to walk through the pumpkin patch and choose the perfect jack-o-lantern. You and your family can also take part in dozens of kid-friendly activities, like duck races, hayrides, petting zoo, and apple cannons, to name just a few.

Fall Festivalspumpkin fest

The 53rd Annual Sycamore Pumpkin Festival runs October 22-26. Stop by the DeKalb County Courthouse beginning on Thursday, October 23 to see the Lions’ Pumpkin Display on the lawn. Enjoy a carnival, Historic Homes walk, craft market, Sunday parade, and so much more!
