Celebrate the third annual World of Reading extravaganza on Saturday, March 28! Drop in any time between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and enjoy a host of activities! At 1:00 p.m. enjoy a special performance by the Children’s Community Theatre in the lower level Yusunas Meeting Room.

As you enter the library stop at the welcome table to pick up your passport, then explore the worlds! As you enter the lobby you will find yourself in Farm World. A few of the things you can do there are make a paper plate chicken, a marshmallow pig-pop, milk a cow (courtesy of the Farm Bureau), and visit the petting zoo of farm animals (goats, pig, rabbits, chickens, and ducks.)

Proceed to Art World in the Teen Room. There you can enjoy a variety of arts, including selecting a background, donning a costume, and posing for a picture in front of the green screen. After drawing (Minecraft selfies), painting (in watercolor), and architecture (castle crafts), you can head downstairs to visit the worlds on the lower level.

Sport World is in the Zimmerman Room and will host a variety of games. After you try out different sports have a refreshing cup of Gatorade.

Proceed down the hall to the Bilder Room where you are invited to Census World, which will have a variety of activities including lessons on how to read past census information on the Ancestry database. You can also get a tasty piece of pie!

Head upstairs to the children’s department where you enter Garden World! Among the activities there you can identify, sort, and plant seeds, build a hive, and receive live worms to take back to your home garden. Then enter Body World in the Story-Activity Room.

After enjoying a variety of body-themed activities, and getting your last passport sticker, you can return to the Welcome Table. Turn in your passport to enter a raffle.
