SUMMARY:Carolina Pine Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Sandwich Opera House is excited to welcome back Carolina Pine featuring native resident\, Woody James! \n\n\n\nWoody James was raised in the small town of Millington\, Illinois. His mother taught him how to sing by teaching him old gospel songs while his father instilled in him a deep love and knowledge for all music but especially country music which would follow him the rest of his life. His mother bought him his first guitar at 15 and his father taught him chords on their front porch in Millington. Woody’s strong passion for country music also led him to Nashville\, Tennessee at the age of 22 where he got his start in the world famous “Tootsies’s Orchid Lounge”. Shortly there after he met his now partner Kennedy Scott in front of the renowned Ryman Auditorium. \n\n\n\nNorth Carolina native Kennedy Scott learned to sing at an early age thanks to her papa who taught her Emmylou Harris\, Allison Krauss\, Everly Brothers\, and many more country icons. The musical tradition in her family also extends to her parents\, cousins\, aunts and uncles\, and many other relatives; including her father who now builds all of her guitars. Kennedy moved to Nashville at 22\, where she met Woody James and the two soon after became traditional country music duo\, Carolina Pine. \n\n\n\nThe duo shares a love for traditional neo country and roots music. They were last seen touring with country music hall of fame member Alan Jackson\, as well as opening the show for many country acts including Luke Combs\, LeeRoy Parnell\, Mountain Heart\, etc. Their second single “Old Screen Door” landed them their first radio play along with endorsements from “Kyser” and “Fishman.” Carolina Pine is currently working on new recordings\, and will be set for more touring later this year. \n\n\n\nPurchase tickets at the Sandwich Opera House’s website. Tickets range from $25-$30.
