DESCRIPTION:In the summer of 1971\, Kris Kristofferson played three nights at the Quiet Knight in Chicago. His opening act was Steve Goodman\, whose original songs knocked Kristofferson’s socks off. “If you like my songs\, you gotta hear John’s.” Goodman encouraged Kristofferson and his friends (improbably\, actress Samantha Egger and crooner Paul Anka) to head up to the Earl of Old Town to see his best pal\, John Prine.
