SUMMARY:Ellwood House Museum Holiday Traditions
DESCRIPTION:With a long history of hosting holiday magic\, the Ellwood House museum is pleased to announce the 57th annual Holiday Traditions celebration. The Ellwood House will be open for self-guided tours of the beautifully decorated rooms. This year\, they are also thrilled to offer tours of the fully decorated 1st floor of Ellcourt\, the second historic home on the property. During the event\, Santa will be available for photos in the Patience Ellwood Towle Visitor Center\, alongside a desserts table. Musicians will play throughout the evening in both houses. \nRooms are decorated with the help of organizations\, groups\, individuals\, and Ellwood House Staff.

SUMMARY:AARP Smart Driver Course
DESCRIPTION:The two-day AARP Smart Driver will be offered at DeKalb Township (2323 S. 4th St.\, DeKalb) on Dec. 10th & Dec. 11th (9 AM – 1 PM). This course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. The course has been recently updated with new content\, so attendees will receive the most up-to-date information about driving in Illinois. Participants may also qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course. Anyone interested in learning more about this discount should contact their automobile insurance provider. \nSpace is limited and attendees must pre-register for the course by calling the DeKalb Township at 815-758-8282. The classroom course costs $20 for AARP Members and $25 for non-members. Financial Assistance is available to qualifying DeKalb Township residents who are unable to cover the cost of the course on their own. All inquiries about this course can be directed to Kimberly at the DeKalb Township. \n
