DESCRIPTION:The Kentucky Derby is the longest continually held sporting event in America\, and it is one of the most prestigious horse races in the world. It has a rich tradition of fancy dress\, specialty food\, and of course\, horse-racing. Celebrate the Run for the Roses by making a traditional “Fascinator” hat to wear while you view clips of the greatest two minutes in sports\, sip Mint Juleps (non-alcoholic) and enjoy other refreshments. \nExplore horse riding gear provided by Tiny Voice Therapy Services of Elburn\, play games including a children’s obstacle course\, “place your bets” to win a raffle prize\, and get your photo taken in the winner’s circle! Dressing up for a day at the races is encouraged for this program. \nThis all-ages event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is part of the America 250 initiative: celebrating our nation throughout the year.
