SUMMARY:Children’s Art Gala
DESCRIPTION:Open to young local artists entering grades 3-6\, showcase your talent at the DeKalb Public Library’s “Children’s Art Gala for Peace”! Children’s artwork will be professionally displayed in the main lobby\, accompanied by music\, refreshments\, a Japanese crane folding demo and craft\, and a live artist who will create a masterpiece right before your eyes. \nPlease see below for entry rules and regulations. \nThis event is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Library and Jubilee Artisans. \nJubilee Artisans – Handmade shopping for everyone. Art Classes\, Private Parties\, Creative Studio Rentals. Locally curated artists and artisans. \nOfficial Rules and Regulations \n\nOpen to children entering grades 3-6.\nParticipants must bring entries to the Youth Services department for “in-person” registration.\nAlthough a “Peace” theme is encouraged\, artwork can consist of other subjects.\nAll entries must be of appropriate content for public viewing and approved by Youth Services staff.\nAll entries must be submitted and approved by 4:30 p.m. on Friday\, July 18\, to be included in the Gala event.\nAll entries must be of original artwork\, by the named artist.\nAll entries must be no larger than 24”x 24”\, and no smaller than 6”x 6”.\nAll participants and their legal guardian must sign a release waiver from damages at registration.\nAll 2D art must be matted for display.\n\nFor any questions\, please contact Stormy in the Youth Services department at (815) 756-9568 ext. 3310 or at stormye@dkpl.org.
