DESCRIPTION:It’s the fourth year of Stories & a Stroll with the DeKalb County Forest Preserve! Just like in years past\, the DeKalb Public Library children’s librarians will lead a short nature-themed story time\, and then naturalists with the DeKalb County Forest Preserve will take us on an approximately 40-minute guided hike. This month’s hike is P.A. Nehring Forest Preserve. \nThere are no bathrooms at Nehring\, so please plan ahead! \nThere is no registration required for this program. SUMMARY:Hinckley Summer Band Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy Hinckley’s friendly\, small-town hospitality. Bring your lawn chairs and refreshments to the Community Building lawn (100 Maple Street\, Hinckley). Free concerts from 6-8 p.m. are organized by the Hinckley Historical Society. \n\n\n\nThursday June 19\, the 40 piece Fox Valley Brass Band will provide a variety of traditional and contemporary brass music. The skilled volunteer musicians promote music enjoyment for all ages. \n\n\n\nThursday July 17\, Ann Stewart and the Banjo Buddies Dixieland Jazz Band provide a show of classic Dixieland Jazz and improvisations that keep the music fresh and entertaining. \n\n\n\nThursday August 21\, the Jazz in Progress 18-piece community band features classical jazz\, swing-era and favorites from across the decades. Soloists will add to their performance.
