DESCRIPTION:Soup-er Sunday programs support the J.F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center in DeKalb\, a not-for-profit organization working to preserve the home and barn\, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These programs will be held at 12 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of January\, February and March. Visit GliddenHomestead.org for the full list. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center on Facebook \n\n\n\nThis year marks the 150th anniversary of Glidden’s “The Winner” patent\, the most widely-used barbed wire in the world\, which also earned Glidden the title “The Father of Barbed Wire.” In September 2024 the Homestead will celebrate by hosting a barbed wire exposition show in coordination with the Antique Barbed Wire Society\, and other community-wide events.

DESCRIPTION:Arcomusical is proud to present the beloved annual DeKalb community and family event\, Transformation Through Rhythm! \n\n\n\nAlongside long time partners the Harambee Ensemble\, the DeKalb High School Percussion Ensemble\, and NIU Percussion\, Arcomusical couldn’t be more excited than to continue this drumming celebration to benefit our community. \n\n\n\nAdmission is free and goodwill offerings will be collected throughout the performance. All proceeds will be donated to the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership in the form of a donation to the Give DeKalb County Bonus Pool. This donation in turn will positively impact the more than 140 non-profit organizations based or offering services in DeKalb County! Donations will be collected digitally and in-person at the event. \n\n\n\nCome one\, come all\, and enjoy the music and a sense of community!
