Silent Auction to Diversify the Collection
May 6, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

NIU Art Museum is hosting a silent auction of small works in the North Gallery of the museum with several pieces donated by School of Art and Design faculty and instructors including Michael Barnes, Sasha Bitzer, Jessica Labatte, Nina Rizzo, John Siblik, Ben Stone, Kryssi Staikidis, Peter Van Ael, and Shei Chau Wang along with pieces donated by museum staff and members of the Friends of the Art Museum including prints by Honoré Daumier, Françisco Goya, John James Audubon, David Driesbach, and Jay Ryan.
The goal for this year’s silent auction is to raise funds to make a targeted purchase to help diversify the museum collection. NIU Art Museum hopes to be able to purchase several prints from the Brandywine Print Workshop, a black artist-run printmaking studio dedicated to promoting the work of underrepresented artists.
The Auction is open during regular gallery hours starting April 5 and bidding will run through 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6.
