
Ellwood House Museum Tours
Ellwood House Museum is open for tours again on March 1st! This magnificent estate is a testimony to three generations of the Ellwood family whose tastes shaped the evolution of the house and grounds. When you visit the museum, you will be aware of the comfort and quality of workmanship as well as the warmth and hospitality of a family home that was lived in for almost one hundred years.
Tours are available of both the Ellwood Mansion and the Ellwood-Nehring House, as well as two exhibits in the Visitor Center.
Vintage Shop Hop
Come to Downtown DeKalb March 6-7, where many of our unique shops are participating in the Vintage Shop Hop. This region-wide event is a self-guided road trip to over 200 vintage shops, antique stores, and events throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. The shop owners will roll out the red carpet for you with special Shop Hop promotions, treats, demonstrations, and discounts.

Arts Midwest World Fest
Paulo Padilha will be performing a one-night-only concert at DeKalb High School on Thursday, March 5. Catch the swing and rhythm of urban Brazil with this highly acclaimed musician and clever lyricist. Paulo Padilha’s songs mix a little samba with a little pop—you’ll dance all the way home. Tickets are available at the door beginning at 6pm.
9 to 5 the Musical
Beginning March 12 and running until March 22, Stagecoach Players presents 9 to 5 the Musical at the Stage Coach Theatre in DeKalb. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, this entertaining show is based on the 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, it’s a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era—outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic. Get your tickets for the show, and make reservations for dinner beforehand in Downtown DeKalb!

DeKalb is proud to welcome the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State Wrestling Tournament! This exciting event will be happening at the NIU Convocation Center March 13-14. Many local hotels will offer special IESA rates for the weekend, so be sure and mention you are attending the IESA State Final Wrestling event when you make your reservation.
