Tweens Read and Space Adventure Program
Wednesday, July 17, 2019
Join other tweens, ages 9-12, in this dual program in honor of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing. Read a loaned copy of the book I Love You, Michael Collins by Lauren Baratz-Logsted, about a girl in 1969 who becomes the pen-pal of Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins, and come prepared to discuss it. Then stay for the STEM part of the program in which we will sample astronaut food (Tang and freeze-dried ice cream,) and participate in a simple rocket experiment.
Each participant will receive an 8 ½ x 11 photo from NASA and two lucky winners will receive an autographed copy of the book I Love You, Michael Collins.
Registration is required and space is limited. Copies of the books will be available three weeks prior to program in the Youth Services department. This program is for students ages 9-12.
