NIU Football Community Celebration at DeKalb Farmer’s Market

Did you know that college football will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary during the 2019 season? 2019 also marks NIU Football’s 50th year as an NCAA Division I football program! Come on out to the DeKalb Farmer’s Market at 11:30am to meet NIU Huskie Football’s Head Coach Thomas Hammock, NIU Associate VP and Director of Athletics Sean Frazier, DeKalb Mayor Jerry Smith, and Sycamore Mayor Curt Lange to hear more about Huskie Football’s season opener on Saturday, August 31st!

NIU Football will host the Illinois State Redbirds during the Ag Night 2019 season opener at Huskie Stadium on Saturday, August 31st. Ag Night will feature a farm implement display in The Yard tailgate area at Huskie Stadium, free sweet corn from the Newman Catholic Student Center at NIU during pregame, and a replica Thomas Hammock NIU Football jersey giveaway courtesy of First Midwest Bank for the first 1000 fans to enter Huskie Stadium.

NIU Athletics has established a special group rate ticket for $15/ticket for groups of 15 or more.

Northern Illinois University is also preparing for its 125th Anniversary Celebration, which officially kicks off in January 2020.
