An Immigrant’s Song, the Celtic Influx

Saturday, May 27, 2017

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Join us for an entertaining event with performer Barry Cloyd!

This program begins in the ancient days of the Celtic people and follows their migration across Europe to what eventually became their home in Ireland. They have always been a people of song and story and these tales and tunes have given Mr. Cloyd a remarkable and entertaining method by which to bring the Gaelic Culture to life. Contained within are some of Mr. Cloyd’s original songs, as well as several which are very well known.

The connection is also made to Midwest Irish families, who fled the Great Hunger of the 1840’s and 50’s to escape oppression and seek their freedom in “Amerikay”. Lots of good music and fine tales coupled with a healthy dose of entertaining history. “Edu-tainment”, if you will, at it’s finest.

This FREE event is family friendly and requires no registration!
