Coffee and Conversation at Blumen Gardens
Every fourth Saturday
Saturday, June 16, 2018 - Sunday, July 15, 2018
Come enjoy your morning coffee with us and partake in an interactive gardening discussion. We will walk around the gardens, see/touch plants, answer gardening questions and get our hands dirty! A new topic every month!
June 16th: Perennials
Come along on a journey to revisit the classical varieties of blooming perennials. Some call them heirloom or gold-standard plants. Blumen Gardens’ co-owner Joel Barczak calls them Tried-and-True Bloomers. Far from old-fashioned, these plants are delicately beautiful, easy to grow and carry multi-seasonal interest. Joel will re-introduce you to these tried-and-true perennials whose robust characteristics have stood the test of Midwestern gardening time!
July 14th: Pollinators of Trees & Shrubs
The topic of this week’s talk will be all about Native Trees and Shrubs that act as pollinators. Not only do native tree and shrub species embellish your home’s landscape, but they also provide some of the first food and habitat sources for pollinators in the spring. Receive 20% off your entire purchase during the day of the class including all trees and shrubs!
Bring any gardening questions you may have! We look forward to seeing you over coffee!
Cost: FREE (Participants will receive a special discount to our Gift and Garden Shop)
PLEASE REGISTER FOR TALK AT 815-895-3737.
(Registration is not required, we would just like to know how many to expect! Thanks!)
