Art on Canvas: Imagination Station

Friday, February 15, 2019

1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

Do you like art? Do you need a new picture for your room? If so, come to the library to paint your own picture on a canvas that you can hang up at home. Use your imagination and paint anything you like! You can take your canvas home on the second day of this two-day program. You will be using acrylic paint which does NOT wash out—so wear old clothes or a paint shirt! Paint and canvases will be provided by the library.

This FREE program is intended for children ages 8 to 12. Space is limited to 10 participants. Register at dkpl.org to participate.

Jo Plenger-Schulz has a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a Master’s in Art Therapy, both from NIU. You may know her as the artist who painted the library’s huskie, which is currently on display near the elevators on the lower level. Jo specializes in temporary murals and looks forward to creating them with interested young artists.

For additional information, please contact Theresa at theresaw@dkpl.org or (815) 756-9568 ext. 3350.
